Viola, shipwrecked in Illyria after a storm and believing her brother Sebastian to be drowned, disguises herself as a boy, Cesario, to work for Duke Orsino. Viola falls in love with the Duke who is himself in love with the Countess Olivia. He dispatches Cesario to woo the Countess for him but Oliva falls madly in love with Cesario.
